On the Gargano
Gargano is an earth rich in charm, to explore 365 days a year. In all the seasons it gives a natural shows of inestimable beauty. In the months of April and May in the Gargano they bloom around 100 kinds of spontaneus orchids, admirable on the high ground of Monte Sacro (Mattinata) and Pulsano (Monte Sant’Angelo). From June to October the nature is an exult of colors and smells, from the sandy beaches and pebbles, to the beeches of the Umbra forest, among the alleys of the medieval boroughs that smells like home made sauce and grilled fish.
If you seek unique experiences: a dinner on the “trabucchi” (wood structures similar to titl houses that were used to fish, now excellent restaurants) or an excursion to the sea caves, a visit to the Tremiti islands, or a jeep safari in the Ubra forest, are just some of the activities that you should practise. A vacation on the Gargano is an internal run, through natural places and places of worship, like San Giovanni Rotondo church where rest the Padre Pio’s spoils and San Michele’s cave, pilgrims’ destination and point of conjunction of the old path toward Jerusalem.
As the Latins said “mens sana in corpore sano“, so last, but not least Gargano with his endless natural heritage it’s the ideal destination for sportspeople, that, during the year they can do water sports (surf, kitesurf, windsurf), running(Gargano running week/Ottobre), triathlon and mountainbike.
Are you ready to go?!
